I guess I’m spending way too much time on chat, as Bart’s influence is sinking in.
Some time ago, Bart mentioned that his little mini-belt sander had given up the ghost and he was thinking about a new one.
Well, I had seen these Microlux tools over at Micromark, but passed on them as being too expensive. Bart was persuasive.
So, I got the drill and the mini-belt sander today, direct from Micromart…and a heavy duty transformer from E-Bay.
Up to now, I’ve been using a sanding block to take down those stubborn edges and a power screwdriver for my drill. The variable speed on this stuff is incredible. This isn’t like the typical belt sander that takes off 1/2" in the blink of an eye - I can use this on plastic and it doesn’t melt. The tools are tiny - which is great, but are quite powerful as well.
Thanks, Bart!
