This thing is just about the right size to be used as a headlamp in a loco. Would be fun to experiment with.

Well I just tried to do a quick google and i can’t figure out what something like this would even need to be hooked to to make it work. I do see wireless version that would connect to a computer.

Looks like you put 3.7 - 5 volts, + and -, on the red and black wires, respectively. Then the black wire would serve as ground and the yellow and white wires would serve as “hots” for the composite video and mono audio, respectively.

But what would you be able to feed it to that could ride along on a locomotive. I mean I no nothing at all about CCTV. do I need a lap top to ride around on a flat car or could I hook it to some small recording device? I mean for it to work with the application I was thinking there would have to be some on board electronics to capture the video feed. A wireless one would be easy but I am wondering what option would be available to make a camera car or locomotive.

I don’t know this was just one of those ads that pops up because I visited Banggoods site, damn tracking cookies. And when i saw how small it was I thought hey that could be cool.

You would need either a video transmitter to send the signal to a remote device that can record it - OR - some kind of portable digital recorder. I’m sure you could find something that could ride-along on a loco. This is definitely a DIY project for someone who has some electronics experience perhaps even some experience with one of the of the chip computers.

You would probably need a small interface, wireless transmitter and receiver set-up for the composite/mono unless you can fit a VCR in your train.

Well I hope someone else figures it out and then tells me how to do it with step by step instructions. I am already way over my head in electronics and don’t need another one.

PS running a toaster is over my head when it comes to electronics.

i have something of that size.

it is fed by a 9v battery, and transmits wireless to a receiver , which has to be connected to a tv.

the quality of the shown pics is so bad, that i have put it away.

my next try will be a wifi - webcam.
