The article says he wrote Andromeda Strain in 1969. I remember reading it in High School - One of my favorite books that solidified my love of science fiction.

I never read the book (I should though) but have seen the movie many times. It really fascinated me as a youth and probably helped point me towards a career in science.

I had forgotten about that…after the “Jurassic Park” series and “Timeline” both of which I read before they were major motion pictures…
