OOPs! Deal with China cancelled…
I would think Mexico has more to worry about than getting high speed rail as neat as it would be.
Of course there is a lot that could be said but this is a happy train forum not an arena for political discussion so I will leave it at that.
As I have read the article, and a couple of other things regarding the whole bidding process, canceling this bid and starting over is actually a good thing.
Reportedly there was some problems with the whole bid package that the Government put out. The other interested bidders, found some discrepancies with some of the given information, and wanted to do their own background research into some provided data, such as surveys, plotting, cut and fill requirements, ground compactions, right of way access, and etc. All other interested bidders asked for an extension of closing date, and got refused, and the China Partners were the only bid turned in by the cut off date.
The other companies, wanted more time to put “Boots on the Ground” before committing to a fixed price.
Will there be high speed straps to hang on to, up on top?
Guy jumped in front of a French Hi Speed TGV and was killed and pinned to the front of the loco by the speed/air pressure…only fell off when speed reduced. These French jobs really motor!!
Strap hanging not recommended!! (LOL)
Judging by some YouTube videos and pictures I have seen, the Mexicans can’t maintain a “low speed” railroad to the level of North American mainline standards. I can just imagine a train coming off the rails at 200mph due to poor track maintenance.
