Metal trucks

I’ve broken my Connie’s tender truck and found replacing it would be $30 plus shipping. I’d rather spend a little more and get a metal truck for it. Can someone lead me to sources for kit trucks?

I see Phil’s NG has some. Anybody else?

What broke?
I fix them all the time, successfully, too.

Dave, like Marc, I have just had my second tender truck disintergrate, for want of a better term, the Bolster where it screws into the Side Frame just fell in pieces, I have done a temporary repair, so far so good!

It seems the plastic is brittle or such, had a simple dertailment and the truck collapsed.

Would like to hear your remedy, Thanks.

Dave, I tried drilling for a longer screw and regluing but this is the third time and the plastic is so brittle. I want metal. Might even make a brass one if I can figure out the journel boxes. Thanks though.

Okay, you’ve got plastic rot.
I know where that comes from.

Metal is going to be an issue, as the way the wheels are set up, you will be dead short.

IF the main bolster is okay, I would find solid plastic rod that size (what, 5/16" or 3/8" od?) and drill the main bolster out, glue them in, trim to length, cross drill the brake beam holes, fit the sideframes up, drill the center hole, and bingo!
