I just removed an incredibly long political diatribe from the site. Its a first, and hopefully a last.

The trials of running a board!
Believe it or not, this is the first forum post Ive had to do that with, in the bit over 6 years Ive run the site, and I found it hard to do. I’ve had to clean up the chat a couple times when spammers found it, but thats it.

Maybe we don’t like our chat quite so clean. Yes I am still alive and kicking. 
Its a fine line, but the last 4 times things have gotten out of hand, I get more email from people complaining about the posts, than I do people actually posting. Its generally two or three people posting back and forth, and I’ll field emails from more than a dozen people.
There are other boards to talk about this stuff on.
Bob, I sympathize with your plight as a forum owner - some folks just don’t have sense of perspective or propriety. When folks ask me why I don’t run a forum or mailing list for Family Garden Trains, I just have to remind them about what all the other moderators they’ve ever known have had to put up with.

Wouldn’t it be nice if all those that complained actually posted something trainish! It might give enough other things to read that the problem posts wouldn’t get the attention they do!
