Hi guys,
The subject line accurately describes my thinking process. So, here’s a question I can’t remember the answer to:

Where can I find, or who wrote the article on taking a 1:24 plastic kit of the John Bull and regauging it for 45mm track and motorizing it.

I can’t remember if it was in this forum, or another. I seem to remember they motorized the tender and left the drivers free-wheeling.

Anyhow, I purchased one of these plastic kits along with a kit of the Trevethick which I’d like to do the same with. Just to backdate my era a little.

Can’t help ya with the info, but it sounds like a nifty idea.

You might want to look into a motor block from either Hartland or Aristocraft to power the tender. I’ve seen that done with the old Lionel Atlantics after the original drive train in the engine crapped out.
