I just finished editing and uploading a fun little video composed of some off-road clips and scenes from my 2016 Mojave/Nevada trip, and featuring my Toyota 4Runner “Megaweapon”. Let me know what you think:
Looks like just the right thing for your off-road adventures. I sure like the name “Megawagon.” Did you letter that on yourself? Hope you get lots of good service and enjoyment from that 4Runner. Good job on the video. Now I have a much better idea of the territory you explore.
Thanks! I ordered the vinyl lettering from a place online, then applied it myself. The name “Megaweapon” is from a ridiculous truck in a cheesy Italian “Road Warrior” rip off that was featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Keep that up, Ray and Toyota will hire you for their TV adds…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
That looks like a great adventure!
Gee Ray… Gotta keep both hands on the wheel driving along that high road…
I like the rocket launchers on the roof!
Great video Ray. The 4Runner is a very reliable off road vehicle. I’m amazed at how many structures are still standing in Nevada. As a kid in 1958 we explored Cortez NV between Austin and Battle Mtn. At that time most of the town and mine was intact. My Dads “4Runner” was a 56 Olds, not exactly an off roader, but it handled it. I like you rocketry videos as well.
Ray that music HAS to go, if you’re going to call it Megaweapon you need the appropriate soundtrack I suggest:
or maybe:

Heh! Good choices. However, I was limited to what I could get for free and without rights issues.
Megaweapon has a new face! I finally got my new MetalTech off-road bumper installed today:
Unfortunately my (stock) front skid plate was so smashed up they couldn’t get it back on. But I’m going to be
upgrading the skids in a couple months anyway:
And…I also had them beef up the suspension with King coil overs and stronger springs! It’s got a mild lift,
roughly 2 inches.
These were the best pics I could get tonight. I’ll try to shoot some better photos tomorrow.
.
Wow Ray, you are really serious about trail riding! (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
BTW, I LIKED the music you used.
Looks like something the Marines could use…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Ray this needs somethin…
I got it!!!
Today was a good day. I got some nice shots of Megaweapon today with the MetalTech bumper, King
coil overs, springs and lift:
Wanted to get a good flex shot but this was the best I could do at the local park:
I also came within four miles of hitting the 10k mark, so I set up a service appointment. I’d like to get
a shot of the odometer at 10k but it’s probably going to happen while I’m on the freeway tomorrow:
And my favorite restaurant (Chili’s) gave me a free meal today because it’s my birthday!
.
Happy Birthday Ray! (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)
Thanks, Joe!
OK, where’s the winch?..(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
No winch for me. Nearly all my off-roading is in desert areas where there’s nothing I could attach a winch line to even if I had one.
I can understand that. I had one on a '79 Ford pick-up. 99% of the time it was used to haul the other guy out of a ditch…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Ken, yea, you have to watch out for them “other guys”.(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Nice ride Ray!

My son is with an off-road recovery group in Colorado. They run into situations where there are no good natural anchors and they are very impressed with the performance of the Pull Pal http://www.pullpal.com/
I have no interest in the company - just reporting what the off-road group has said.
