Hi,
Got some MDC cars off ebay, they had some LGB bettendorf trucks, bit too large, anybody have any MDC trucks to sell/trade? Jerry
There is a reason they have those trucks.
I had to repair/strengthen/rebuild/replace every truck when I had MDC rolling stock.
I got rid of all of them except the cabooses, and they ALL have Bot…errr…Bachmann trucks under them now.

Same here. The MDC trucks were very weak out of the box, and they really don’t stand up to use in the great outdoors. Also be aware that none of the plastic detail parts (hand rails, etc.) on the MDC cars are UV resistant, and virtually all pieces, along with the trucks, will fail in short order if left outdoors.

Let’s see what kind of Plastic PIKO uses. I would imagine it will be weather resistant like thier other G items.
Okay thanks, maybe I’ll use the USA ones I have instead. Why are the bolsters different on the USA cars? One bolster has to tabs sticking up in the air, the one on the other end does not. Have to grind those off to use the USA trucks, they hang up on them. No problem on the plastic add on parts(brake wheel/brakes/etc), the cars did not have them! Jerry
The tabs sound like the three leg stool design applied to the trucks rather than the body. LGB used the same stability concept that was developed by H0 modelers, but the “legs” were designed into the body rather than the trucks.

I tracked down some USA Bettendorf trucks from my mail order hobby guy in Iowa. Thanks everyone! JErry
