MDC caboose goes Army and gets Interior

I got a MDC caboose at Marty’s for my Army train. When painting it, I shot the interior with a industrial green, then thought to make an interior. I found a set of plans online that were a perfect fit so followed those. Fun one day project. Wife had some green felt for the blankets. The stove’s tapered part is a battery terminal cover, rest is plastic. I used wood coffee stir sticks for the floor.

Still need to get Stan’s decals on and weather it a bit.

Nice upgrading Jerry. should look great with the train.

Nice job Jerry. Look forward to seeing it in a train.

Looks great Jerry!! Can’t wait to get started on some of my projects! Last night on the train I started working out ideas!

Jerry
That will look good behind the rest of your train.

Nice Jerry should go nice with the rest of the army train. I have been thinking about building a civil war train like the one Kalamazoo use to make.

I got the caboose done. Lettering by Stan Cedarleaf, top edge lettering is vinyl my wife cut(she used to run a sign biz). Yellow is the Transportation COrps color so that is why you see the yellow trim. Gary Raymond 1/32nd wheels are mounted and Kadee 820’s. I might look for some slide glass to replace the wavy plastic windows, since you can hardly see inside the wavy plastic.

That really looks good. Let us know when you find a good source for the slide glass, I need some.

Doug, found some on ebay with free shipping and cover slides.

Jerry,

I know you are a keen modeler, especially with Military trains in mind.

How is this for a Military consist.

Alan,
Thanks Alan. I see them quite a bit going by, I live by the main UP tracks, have 3 mainlines going just 1/3 mile from my house. Have seen trains of all M-1 tanks, Bradleys, saw one the other day that were all new diesel semi tankers. Also trains of a mix from a unit going to/from training at the big desert bases in California.
