Ron Teten and I will be there. Arrive on Friday. Marty says this is the LAST one. Good chance to meet train people, buy from individuals and dealers(Kidman’s always come, and a few others). Good deals on private sales for sellers and buyers, plus NO shipping!
joyce and I are going, and also Dan and Rita. It will be a first for us.
I’ve had some emails from a couple of people that saw my post about Marty’s in Steam in the Garden magazine. Had to give them directions, they have never been before and must not be forum junkies! Be fun to see them, I think it’s going to be a big crowd. Quite a few dealers coming and many private sellers bringing excess.
10th year (lot of work…) and Marty is branching out So I’m not surprised to hear it will be the last 'un ! Was hoping to make it while visiting backhome, (almost due north of nebraska) but there is a all scales happening which i believe is the same weekend (29&30th? )… if the weekend previous that is just when I be rolling into Manitoba !
I’m sure there will be alot of fellow enthusiasts sharing in the moment and the friendship all the best to all who are able to make it the ‘gathering’ !

It’s this weekend Doug, 21-23 Sept.
Got to Marty’s about 1300 and found a load of vehicles around the place. I’m sure there are a lot of pictures posted over on MLS, lots of thee people hang out there. The new ride on layout is coming along and the largescale layout is well maintained and is basically large loops with a couple of switching locations. Lots of friends and new people to meet. Dinner last night was with friends from St. Loius area at Parker’s Smokehouse. They say it has been there for years and why this is the first time we’ve gone? I don’t know. We head back today and I thought yesterday was crowded, but the thought is today will be busier. Marty has been sick and didn’t show his face at all yesterday. There may be a souvenir that many people take back with them that they don’t want. Lots of vendors, new and old, and much stuff being sold by individuals. Jan is going to set up a table this afternoon.
