Now, now! Before you climb all over me, Marty is the one that first called it a “Thingy”! I drove over to Marty’s and had a great time. Met new folks and saw old folks again. I think we all played hard for 3 days. Picture time at the zoo! I’ll start with an overview shot down Marty’s “Main Street”. This is at his new shop looking back towards the old shop which is now his train workroom.
Marty reworked the Highline this spring and added a covered staging yard. He’s thinking of making this the steamup bay for the live steamers.
Dealers set up in the new shop which also served as the food staging area for snacks and lunch. All the women brought great stuff to eat. Thank you all!
My collection of merchandise was in with the food…
A couple of scoundrels checking out the merchandise. JJ from the other place is in the black hat…the other scoundrel has been seen lurking about these hallowed halls…
Saturday night we had a wonderful banquet at The Embers. I think the count was 86 for dinner.
Ric and Jan celebrated their 35th Anniversary that night.
Now that I’ve gotten the formalities over with, it’s train running time at Marty’s.
This set of Virginian electrics was scratch built out of blocks of wood.
Amtrak doing freight service.
Bubba over at the other place has developed quite a skill at weathering.
Double heading bumblebees.
A Challenger.
Jim Carter’s nice F3’s. He let me run them Saturday night. Thanks, Jim. I really enjoyed that! They are really beautiful all lit up at night.
A Hudson.
And live steam.
My first (45mm gauge) battery car and locomotive. It ran sweet. No problems and good range.
All I can say about this past week-end is WOW! Hopefully I’ll be there next year to play with everyone and enjoy their company again. Thanks all for such a great week-end.
