Interesting interview with Kingsbridge Capital manager Hinks http://www.handelsblatt.com/unternehmen/industrie/finanzinvestor-wir-haben-maerklin-unterschaetzt;2182266

As mentioned, use Google or Bablefish at your own risk! :stuck_out_tongue:

Women and Children first

One wonders about all the ‘stuff’ that was in that set of building when I was there in 92 or 93 during the Day of the Open Door this was there one Saturday in the spring or summer. It was a great display and tour thru the Plant with people doing their jobs and explaining the process. Malcoms lay out was there and running as well, plus several other clubs, one from Franfuert am Main. Bad greed got in the way!

Paul,

That set of buildings has been vacated for some time, the TRIX and LGB remnants were moved to a new location.

Basically “We didn’t realize what we were getting ourselves into!”

Marvin, You shouldn’t have a problem relating to that, look at what happens to you everytime you enter a discussion.

Bought by the best 1 possible… So much for your theory…

Yep, the choice wasn't great, but they were the better choice! As always "ABC" (Anybody But the old Clique!)

Name one of the original group that you have actually met?

State when you actually visited the factory?

Name a B.T.O. (LGBMRRC) convention you actually attended?

Almost as funny as your “Better Choice” !

Jack,
you have such a short memory. Who was it that claimed one reason for disbanding the LGBMRRC was perceived irregularites in club funding? Are you supporting the very one’s who stabbed you in the back? Coincidental that the alleged criminal act coincided with the manufacturer’s plan to have a worldwide club, rather than separate clubs at national level.

That’s fully intended, Marvin. You’ve never been one to catch on to subtleties, mind you half the time you don’t get the drift of the straight on either. Whenever one of your many monikers surfaces the first thing I hear is you singing

I’m a marionette, just a marionette, pull the string I’m a marionette, everybody’s pet, just as long as I sing I’m a marionette, see my pirouette, round and round I’m a marionette, I’m a marionette, just a silly old clown

and then as you get into the real Ventilator mode the “I’m a marionette, see my pirouette, round and round” gets quicker and quicker.

Tim,

My memory isn’t short at all. I was a very active member of the LGBMRRC and attended many conventions. I attended numerous advisory level meetings. I saw the club’s graft personally! Even their proposed 2009 budget is already over $2000. in the hole.

I not only supported Lehmann’s decision, I lobbied for the world wide club for years before the choice was finally made. “alleged criminal act” is a real hoot!

Jack,

My journey in IIm started in 1999:

there was no reason to meet anyone of the original group, following their “progress” towards insolvency could easily happen by other means. Besides “Everything is according to plan” and similar bon mots were mentioned often enough that one could simply nod and think “Oh yes, now where have we heard this before?”

there was no necessity to visit the factory - I had what they produced right in front of me and could take it from there. You see in my previous life I wasn’t scheduling bus routes and my short time in the army amounted to exactly 17 weeks and a few days. All the rest I frittered away in tool rooms and high tech production facilities.

never felt the need to attend a BTO or LGBMRRC convention. Haven’t attended a Garden Railroad Convention, either.

I just don’t need the rah-rah the way you and some others apparently do, nor am I inclined to dance to any tunes fiddled by whoever and I certainly don’t move at the end of strings like some of the marionettes these past few years.

Ah … St. Jack in action.

If you saw their graft personally and you didn’t speak up, then what were you? Too cowed by their power? Or just didn’t care enough since you were only a member? Or just couldn’t be bothered not to be Mr. Nice Guy who agrees with whatever?

Yes, it’s much easier to be acerbic when you don’t even bother to know anyone involved!

I did speak up, but then you wouldn't know since you weren't there!

BTW I guess all this means you’ve never actually met Ron Gibson either?

But Jack, I'm like that all the time. Ask my friends, everyone knows exactly where they're at, I leave the ass-kissing to those who enjoy the taste.

Quite right, OTOH I have a feeling that Ron and I will get along nicely whenever the occasion presents itself. My opening line could be: "Well, how about that Kollektor, eh?" that should break the ice in a hurry.

Jack,
I also had never heard of Ron G. until late last year, when I learned that he was ‘gunning’ for me. Must be terribly disconcerting jumping from one sinking ship to another and finding that your life preserver was intentionally holed.

" I leave the ass-kissing to those who enjoy the taste."

There are a lot of lackeys on this site who have your taste on thier lips!
