Major tweaks. You’ll have to mark all forums as read again, but this one should track new posts correctly.
This is another two steps forward, one back. It SHOULD work correctly from now on.
Nope, not quite. Backed out of that one.

OK, I dropped in the code I’ve been running myself for the last week. Works a treat. It’s been following YOU guys, too, the last week, and marking what you’ve read. It SHOULD be more or less up to date. It WONT have any forums you havent visited marked, so you’ll have to do that manually.
Let me know how it goes. If its not working right, Ill pull it again.
Mine shows new posts in every category. even if nothing has been posted for days.
It works very well. Thanks. One just needs to clear out the old stuff, but it is so fast and easy now.
Same here. Showing new posts in every category.
Ralph
Ok,
Marked everything as read. We’ll see how it goes from here.

Oooo… I LIKE this fix. Super fast.
Does that mean that every week, we have to og and mark the forums as read?
By the way, since yesterday, all of the forums show up as active even if they aren’t. Now, I have to re-mark all of them again.
So far, it is working very well after marking everything as read and starting over.

No, just once to get the database in sync with your read status.
@Jon: Exactly. Prime the pump once, and it works.
Thanks Bob, it does! Now, if you could have a second button “Mark all fora as read” i.e. the way it cleared prior to the last change, that would make things even quicker.
PS that button could go on the http://www.largescalecentral.com/LSCForums/index.php page.
That’s great. Nice to have it fast.
It’s now working exactly like I would want it to. Automatic updating seems to be working too if you read all new posts in a forum.
'Tis nice and fast now.
Any chance of a “Mark All Posts Read” option on the forum index page?
Bob, forumis working just as I want it, great job.
