Mark al topic read

I clear all topics in all forums each time I visit this websire.

But I have noticed that if there is many pages to a forum (67) that it takes quit a while to clear 8-10 new postings in that forum.

If there is less pages to a forum the clearing process is much faster.

Dose the software not track new postings and know how to clear them only and not scan all the other pages?

All the new postings are always listed first and it would look like once you started see topics that have no new posts then marking process could be stopped.

I go to other forums and the clearing process of all topics just takes 5 or 6 seconds to clear all new postings.

Dennis,
It’s been that way from the get-go.
I just open the forum in another window and let the previous one clear.
Then go back and forth.

Dennis:

In addition to what John wrote, you might try browsing in tabs. Right click on a forum header (or any clickable link), then select “Open Link in New Tab.” This will automatically put the link in a new tab adjacent to the current one. You can have as many links (tabs) open as you want, and be able to select between them by just clicking on the tab.

That allows you to have an action such as page loading or “Mark All Topics Read,” working, then move to another tab while the first actions complete. It also is an easy way to read between forum pages, do research on an item, etc. It takes a short learning curve to become comfortable with tabbed browsing, but in my opinion it is really the best way to access the internet.

Yep, let one forum clear and open a new window for each subsequent one, keep going 'til you’re done. No muss, no fuss.
