Manual (not remote) Battery Operations

Whilst you have been able to pull them apart, I can guarantee that if ever the battery car derails and the loco keeps moving, you will rip the wires out of the connectors.

Cut the hooks off the battery - loco connectors. Don’t worry. they do not come apart on their own durimng normal operations.

Solve the fear of a non functioning TX handpiece. Buy a Spare TX. Mr Polk says they are not expensive.

I have had my battery/sound cars uncouple from the engine numerous times. 90% of the time the connectors disconnect without damage. The other 10% of the time, they do not disconnect, they actually pull the cars along! A real wire coupler!

Put your remote in a lanyard and hang it around your neck. I know the feeling of a lost remote. I told Polk years ago to make a "Locator" beeper on his remote. You could use a properly coded remote car opener. (Then you'd lose that thing as well...................:) :) :) )
Lanyard is a good Idea. I wear one to work that has my security badge, magnetic key, sunglass case and jump drive. I always bitch at my wife for having a purse with so much junk in it. Shouldn't complain when I have all this junk around my neck!

Brian,

Has ITT fixed the stop/start problem as the sound loops? Originally it was pretty seamless for things like crossing bells, machines running, etc. … then they got a new supplier where there was like a 2 second break every 30-60 seconds… I’d be glad to hear it was back to looping wthout interruption again.

Its about a 50 second loop that fades in and out. For the helper diesel it just sounds like the engine is about to stall then powers back up. Sounds just like the Kubota when I trying to pick up a too heavy load in the bucket.

you can hear the pause in this vid clip - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OucW7TD6Ujw

I just use Radio SHack battery holders and try the different voltages that way. You can go from 2 AAA size up to 6 D cells and all inbetween.
