Making some progress on my railway today

With the beautiful weather, I am making some good progress on rehabbing my exhisting railway and preparing for the expansion loop to begin. Today I removed the rock water fall fountain as the bottom is cracked from freeze damage last fall. My fault, didn’t get it drained and put away out of the weather in time. Trying to silicone caulk the bottom from the outside was a failure, so I got some pour in liquid rubber sealer to seal it from the inside. Its now curing in my garage for a couple days before being put back on the layout. Once back on the layout, I can finish the mulch in the middle and finally have the layout all filled in. I also redid the ballest as most was gone from reworking the track plan to remove the cluttered look and track I never used that ran thru the middle. The whole thing looks much better now. You can see the turnouts that lead to nowhere right now, that is where the new loop will tie into the old railway. Will be steaming up my Aster/LGB Frank S later this afternoon once the layout is in the shade completely. Enjoy! Mike the Aspie

Nice.
