I think Illinois is showing its true colors of politics with Burris and Blagojevich. Nobody should ever think that it isn’t about cash. Doesn’t matter how smart you are in Illinois, as long as your skin is the correct color, you can get elected or appointed, but only to some jobs. Some day, they are going to appoint people for the color of their hair, instead of their skin, and then I’ve got a chance. Of course, by then, it will all be grey. Politics in Illinois are spreading through out the Country. :wink:

The left are sure proving that they are the real racists. Its fun to watch them squirm. Bets on tomorrow?

By electing Mr. Obama? Or by saying that anyone linked to a despicable politician is tainted and therefore unworthy? I think they will not seat the gentleman from Illinois but they will lose in court. It won't be pretty.

Feel my pain…Al Franken looks to be my next Senator, all nice and legal! God help us in Minnesota!!

My only point is that there are actually people that believe that those going in to politics are honest and doing it for “the good of the people”. More like “the good of the little people”. Politicians are crooks and the more that start out as lawyers are bigger crooks. Or in the words of Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg “You know”.

Yup - We’ve seen a 20 cent rise since the Gaza/Isreal thing flared up. At the rate it’s going we will be back above $2 before February, We almost got under $1.50, here but not quite.

Gas here jumped $.25 today.

God help us Ric, looks like she's as good as in! Wonder if she dropped the "Kennedy" from her name if she'd have a chance at being appointed Dog Catcher? Franken, Kennedy, Burris...there goes my extra "train money".

And will they tax all the ‘govnermunt’ cars and trucks? Hell no!! ANd I swear that I see more ‘govnermunt’ vehicles on the raod everyday! If they have a funds problem, fire 50% of them and make the rest WORK!

Here at our “Federal Lake Project”, the Corps of Engineers has one hybrid and 7 - 4 wheel drive monsters that can go through anything and have fun doing it. The hybrid is hardly ever out of its parking space, but the Corps has got one. They had a meeting dealing with their budget being cut and I suggested bicycles. That didn’t go over very well. To replace the 4 wheel drive monsters, I suggested mountain bikes. Those guys really don’t have much of a sense of humor.
