Large Scale Central

Mainline to Addieville

Just past the Bridge, was a temporary place, we called Addieville for last years (2014) Op sessions… Weather was decent this weekend, so we did a lil work on extending the mainline. First, we laid track across the bridge to where the EVWR mainline would cross over itself… This extension is shown in the picture below:

Track was laid across the trestle, once we placed 3 trestle pieces together.

Track extended across the trestle and bent to make the curve under the Bluestone Southern Hilltop Subdivision bridge.

Track was extended to where Addieville will eventually be located… Addieville elevator will be on the left, between the end of the curve and the bridge in the distance in the berlow picture…

The trestle will eventually all be tied together, making a sweeping curve… Need to purchase and install 2 bridges across the lower EVWR tracks, connecting the trestle to the walls…

Below is a pic of the overall trestle… Need to add cross bracing to connect all 3 pieces of trestle together…

Saturday, the yard was still a tad muddy… The tractors were leaving tracks… Yrd was better today, but, more rain forcasted for the coming week…

We laid the track as far as we did, so we would know where to trench for the roadbed…

Was a good weekend to work…

Looking good. It just keeps growing and growing (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Spectacular!

Jon, It’s still a work in progress… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Thanks, John…

Didn’t have enough cow repair work to do so you start an extension. Nice work

Now you need a trestle to fill that big gap on the right…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Hollywood, haven’t even started on repairing the tracks from the cows, yet…

Ken, can’t trestle that, no way to get the lawn mower in… Would be nice to get the right bridge in there, but I have to learn how to weld, first…

Great progress! Glad the weather and the ground cooperated.

Actually I think the cattle only trampled the track, I don’t think they wen’t that far in defacing the rail road! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Andy, that work looks pretty super! Great spot/reason for a trestle too. I think the rock gulch could be spanned too. Welding is pretty easy once you start. Besides Shawn needs something to hit his head on while kayaking!

Andy,

Smart guy Rooster mentioned a bascule bridge. That’s a draw bridge. He just doesn’t understand you about not using a TRESTLE!
