Almost done with the quarry office/shop. First building I have put mutins in the windows.
Rooster has reported Sawburner to the moderator for saying: Mutins
Quarry building is done and I put it out on our layout. We will be putting all our buildings out Monday, We have our daughters and grandkids coming over the help. I will post pictures, I remember somebody asked to see our layout with all the buildings, I don’t remember who.
Mark, Will these be staying outside, or brought out for special occasions?
They stay out all summer we only put them in a storage shed for the winter.
your town is growing quickly.
After I set the quarry building out, I noticed you could see in and it was empty. So I made some office furniture and work benches.
Thought I took pictures of the work benches guess not.
And added a light, I modified a solar path light. Need to get more light.
Testing LEDs with batteries in one of the houses. Waiting for the circuit board to control solar panels and batteries.
Looking great, Mark.
Solar panel, battery holder and circuit board to power and control the LEDs.
That is what I have been trying to do, they come on at dusk and charge up during the day. If I want them to come on during the day I can cover the solar panel and they will come on if the batteries are charged up.
Interesting , how many lights will that panel keep lit for say 4 hours or so? Where did you source the hardware and circuits for this?
The circuit board I got from Amazon and it came from China and took a month the get.it can handle 600mA out put, how long it will stay lit I don’t know, I think it will mostly depend on the batteries. I am going to try and find the circuit board some place that ships from the US.
Circut board
The solar panels are from Amazon too and were delivered quick, about 2x2" and puts out .45w 3V 150mA.
Solar Panel
Battery holders hold two AA and are from Amazon too.
Battery holder
The LEDs are from Evan Designs.

I am still in the testing phase, I used the 5 bulb style lights in this house and bounced the light off a piece of aluminum to spread the light out more, and am going to try the Mega chip in the next building. I did get up last night but didn’t look to see if the lights were still on so I don’t know how long they will stay on.
That looks great! I’m sure you will enjoy this effort for years to come.
I really miss my lighted buildings. I used my track as a power bus and fed it with constant 12 volts to drive salvaged sign LEDs. With an old school mechanical timer they would be lit from dusk until dawn. It was great getting up in the winter before sunrise and seeing them all lit up.
I am going to light some more building and I have street lights that I made that have LEDs in them that I am going to power the same way. We can see the town out our kitchen window.
You go Mark !!!
Light that town up like 24hr liquor store in Vegas!
