Lumber load for centerbeam

Since it’s off season for me , I have been doing some stuff, one thing was this center beam car, it needed a load , so 300 craft/popsicle sticks were cut to 10’and 8’ units of lumber, glued and then using some 1” foam as a space filler with some blocks to fill the car to the proper depth. 28 g electric wire and jewelry clamps were used to secure the cables and some words were said trying to thread the thin wire thru the tiny clamps with fat fumbling fingers and pliers the load is secured to the car. Took about 3 days of on and off work but think it looks the part, now to get some nice weather ( 2 months away to put it out and give it a run

Obligatory washer picture for MIK points !
Also got my first brand new locomotive all ready. Added CamPac boxes raised to proper height with the included spacers and KaDee couplers , stripped the guts out of it and installed LED lights , ditch lights , plus I added step and ground lights to it, and now it too is ready for cooler weather

Well done Pete, nice additions to the fleet.

It used to be empty with cables strung like we had to do for the car to be released, but I decided I wanted a load for it too, will buy some more of them they are fairly inexpensive for brand new cars. some people have suggested cutting 2 up to make one longer car, I will have to study that and see if it is in my skill set to try!
