LSC Friendships

This past Saturday my wife and I had the pleasure of spending the day with one of our fellow LSC members that came to visit beautiful North Idaho on their way to Montana. Rick Marty and his wife Patty spent the day watching trains and meeting several of our LSC family that belong to our local club the Inland Northwest Garden Railroad Society. They were our guests at our monthly meeting then Rick and Patty came back to my house for a little train running and conversation.

It is really great to meet people face to face that you converse with on this great site. Rick’s inspection crew also gave the “Thumbs Up” for the engineering job and placement of our refurbished bridge.

We had a great time with Rick and Patty.

Next weekend several of us are traveling North to Canada to spend the day running trains and telling lies with another good LSC friend and member of our club, Ron Spencer and his wife Wendy. We are looking to have a great time and I’ll even get more pictures.

Rick and Pat are great people and very good friends. They are always a joy to have around. I hope you let Pat run a train as she enjoys operation as much as Rick does I think.

We also had LSC guests last week when our wonderful friends from across the pond Terry and Gaynor Foley and the one and only Ig stopped by for a couple of days.

A wonderful bunch here on LSC and we’ve had the pleasure of meeting a number of them over the years. Now…if I can just find someone to pull Fr. Fred into a big black limousine, bind and gag him and deliver him to us here…! Perhaps if the car were loaded with single malt and several pole dancers.

I have to agree it is always a pleasure to meet folks from LSC. I wish I had more time to visit others like Fred. One day when my busy schedule slowes down.

In July Ric, Ken, Jon and hopefull a few others will be stopping in and running on my layout.

Now if I can only get tac to come over this way as well.

I was hoping to get up to your place on June 14, but with all the rain we had that week, Sat was the only time I could get into my Dad’s to cut his grass. So July will be a definite visit.

You might want to leave that gag on.

Ooops! Sorry Fred, did I say that out loud.

Not too difficult to figure our Fred and I have been friends a long, long time.

Over the years most of us here in Ottawa have met many of the LSC members at our Annual American Invasion of Ottawa and the ECLSTS. It really adds to the enjoyment here when you know you are among friends happily sharing a common hobby. To paraphrase Will Rogers “I never met a LSC member I didn’t like.”

…winking…

Hi all,

We want to thank Chuck and Chris Inlow and the other members of the Northwest Garden Railroad Society for sharing a day of trains and friendship with us last Saturday. It was a beautiful day weather wise, a great BBQ lunch was served and we enjoyed ourselves very much.

Thank you all for allowing us to share the day with you.
