It came out on another thread that a certain “member” here is a Facebook bot. Here’s a little conversation I had with him yesterday.
He hasn’t answered the last question yet.
After Korm pointed his botness out, John’s odd topic-switches and refusal to offer personal situation info made sense. It’s amusing, in some ways. It’s embarassing in others… Last April “He” posted about an Ozark loco kit for sale and I contacted him immediately.
But “John” said the loco had already been sold. Interesting that he was able to delete the Ozark post entirely (from what I can tell).
Even so, we started a very lengthy PM thread, with me asking questions (because I knew nothing about him), and him giving mostly non-answers. Now I know why; but it didn’t occur to me that he wasn’t real. Guess the “f” should have been a clue.
In case others were having a more substantial relationship with him, I hope I didn’t scare him away…
