The Enterprise Township Railroad has entered into negotiations with an unamed LS shortline here in the Las Vegas valley.
ETR President and CEO Tom Smith said in a news conference today that …“negotiations will be tough, but that the resulting merger will increase the level of service to the various clients”. Both the ETR and other LS road connect to the UP mailine.
The growth in Las Vegas has spurred this move. Many companies are relocating and will need the rail service offered. The merged companies will continue to serve their existing customer bases
This activity is tied to the upcoming relocation of the main office and yards of the Enterprise Township RR.
Smith further stated that an agreement may be reached within the next month. An announcement will be forthcoming.
