I have that book it is excellent on every count, by far the best source for local SP rail history in LA, I wish someone would do one as thourogh for SF and UP history. I know where most of those pics were taken especially downtown and quite a few are stilll recognizable, thats Steve

Bruce Petty is a local boy, a great modeler and an expert on the Southern Pacific along with John Signor, another local boy who use to “conductor” on the McCloud River Dinner Train when he wasn’t writing books.
