It is a medical axiom that being able to notice the passage of time is one of the first things we loose.
I notice that this summer seems to have flown by…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzttt.
When I was a kid, it was an endless summer of sandlot baseball (do they even play that anymore?), days at the city pool, weekends at Aunt Betty’s home on Lake Washington… followed by an eternity of school.
Ain’t that the truth. 
I can’t keep track of the days and things I think took place a couple weeks ago was more like a couple months ago. Even blew a club meeting because I lost track of the days…
