For those that dont know what beaver fever is

What is giardiasis?
Giardiasis is an intestinal illness caused by a microscopic parasite called Giardia lamblia. It is a fairly common cause of diarrheal illness and it is estimated that over 2,000 cases occur in New York State each year. Cases may occur sporadically or in clusters or outbreaks

sounds a lot like what happends when I have to lisen to the kid singer.

Bob
Sorry to hear about the damage. I just got power back. Been on the Generator for 3 days. Since our 14 days experience in the 2008 ice storm, I would say 3 days is nothing. Good luck to the others that have no juice, hope you get it soon. Lot of companies treeing and alot of foreign electric co.'s here. Hopefully this isnā€™t a sign of the winter ahead.

Thats Beiber Fever, and is usually accompanied by tossed cookies.

Gee guys. So sorry to hear of all the damage and discomfort caused by the storm. Itā€™s hard to imagine such weather in October and seems so surreal from my perspective way out here on the west coast. Best wishes to all of you and I hope things return to normal for you as quickly as possible.

BTW Iā€™d always thought ā€œbeaver feverā€ was a condition brought on by excessive lust.

Just donā€™t catch those cookies when theyā€™re tossed!

We will complete Day 5 without power at about 7PM tonight. Iā€™ve seen lots of power trucks parked in parking lots or moving on the road, but havenā€™t seen one working. The HV lines on the main road near my house are back up and the road is mostly clear of trees, so that is a good sign. The power company called with a recorded update that said they hope to have the power back by Saturday. So far Iā€™ve only burned about 15 gallons in the generator which is pretty good. We donā€™t run it at night, or when no one is home.

State is supposedly issuing a boil water advisory for our system today. At least thatā€™s better than ā€œdonā€™t use for anything other than toiletsā€ we heard yesterday. I bought a 7 gallon water tote. Going to fill it at work today.

So guys, are your problems getting resolved? Lots of reports of power outages still in the Northeast.

Here is the CT outage map: http://outage.cl-p.com/outage/outagemap.aspx

Iā€™m in that black box (100% outage) just above Danbury.

Stinks to not have power. I live in the mountains and so we are used to being without power for long periods of time. However, those that live in a more urban setting are not usually prepared for outages like I am. Hopefully you dont get any pipes that bust in your house due to freezing Jon.

It's not that cold outside yet and I have oil heat powered by the generator, so that is one worry we don't have. Thanks for your concern :)

We like to whine, but just think of how good we have it even without power or central heat compared to those who came only 100 years before us.

Our power just came back up so there is hope.

Now to await the insurance company. A tree limb to a direct hit to a roof window in the train shed but amazingly no bridges were hit.

Stan

We still have alot of areas by me still without power. Just driving around there are poles across roads, wires and trees scattered all over the roadways. Im one of the lucky ones going only 2 days without power. I can feel everyones frustrations I went through 7 days without power after the hurrican less then 2 months ago.
Hang in there Jon.

Jon if it helps someone from Connecticut won 245 million in powerball. Iā€™m guessing it wasnt you?

I was going to play didnā€™t :frowning: We are in Day 6 without power. The main feeders look to be powered up again and news is crews are in my area today so Iā€™m hopeful we will be back on the grid soon. Potable water could be a month or more out though.

Stan - Glad to hear your railroad damage was minimal. With so much track out in the woods your chances of damage were pretty high.

Jon I hope it comes back soon for you. Hard to beleive I have power but people down the road from are also still without it. Im off Mon-wed this week if you need help with anything (cleanup) Let me know.

Weā€™re back on the grid

Got most of the clean-up done today. Cleaned off and inspected the roof of the RV and house. Both survived several limb drops with no damage. The boat caught one in a cushion, but the hole is only quarter size. Blew the leaves off the RR. No damage at all. 99% of all the limbs dropped in the back yard and driveway where I usually park my car. Glad it wasnā€™t there. biggest one was about 8 inches in diameter. Glad I had just put a new chain on the saw. Cut them maples like butter

Jon,
Welcome back to the world of electronicals

Glad to hear your electrons are back marching down the line toward you. Restock the fridge.

Itā€™s supposed to snow today, picture coming up if and when it happens.
