Looking for the "Tin Man"

Has anyone talked or chatted with Dave Taylor lately?. I Sent him a couple of messages about the tin we used in the build challenge and have not received a response. Hopefully all is well with him… Travis

Dave is in and out depending on whether he is playing with model trains or real trains. I assume he is just away and will get back to you. He usually does.

That reminds me, Travis…check your messages! I have a prize request!

well, I haven’t heard from Dave. I really need to get the project done. Does anyone know where you can get or know someone who makes it…I would rather get some from Dave.

Travis, if you can’t find Dave in time, I’ll make you all you want…I use the tin from pop cans (aka Coke, cola, soft drink, or, in New England, tonic) with my artist’s mechanical paint tube wringer. They scale out at 1:24 to five-foot lengths. I use 'em all the time, very realistic if you ask me.

Maybe Dave’s drinking margaritas back out on that island in the ocean he disappeared to a couple of months ago!

p.s. you shouldn’t be up so late on the computer…wait a minute…what am I doing up so late on the computer???

Ok John I will find out how many Pieces I will need today and let ya know later this after noon… I have a paper crimper that I used before but I cracked it…

I’m finally home. Been gone to handle a family crisis.

Don’t know just how to explain correctly. Lets just put it this way, My granddaughter will for the extended time being, will be securely the guest of the great state of Colorado. Where she will have a roof over her head, cot to sleep on, three meals a day provided, along with a one piece clothing of a rather garish color, all provided by the tax payers of Colorado.

Her two young kids (My great grandchildren) have been taken care of, one turned over to his father (judges order), and her daughter is being taken care of by her grandmother. Its heart wrenching to have to deal with the kids, but we did and they are in a safer place (we hope). My wife is a wreck.

Now to try and resume some sense of normalcy. I’ve still have to Finnish up my taxes that I didn’t get done before we dropped everything and ran. Hmmm, I wonder is some of this mess could be deductible for next year?

@ TRAVIS D. … All 100+ of your tin will ship tomorrow via USPS priority. I’ll get you a bill later on. You should have them in hand by Thurs.

Well that’s a damn shame, Dave. I was a Denver County foster parent for over seven years and believe me I saw a thing or two. It’s always a painful wreck. Even when things settle down (you hope), the difficult work begins. Good luck to you.

Dave, Sorry to hear about the family … Whenever you get the tin out or done is fine. The other stuff comes first. Take care…

@Travis D. Envelope sent. The post office said that you should have it delivered to you on Wed. Enjoy…

Dave, received the tin. Thank You!!. Let me know what the cost is and will send out the check…
