Well, train that is. I have always been fascinated with trains. My grandfather, great and great-great worked for the railroad (Southern) back in the day. As did several uncles, etc.
Anyway, price had usually kept me away but am now finding I have a little more $$ to play with.
I want to get a nice train, good quality, lasts, but not break the bank. Maybe no more than $500 (engine and tender). I prefer steam (as does my wife which is a plus). I have been looking at HLW - Dutchess and American. Also been looking at Bachmann - 4-4-0 American. There is about $250 difference in the prices of these two.
Does anybody have either of these or any other suggestions? I don’t mind paying (reasonably) more for better quality, but I want it to be worth the increase.
