For my Sammie conversion I want to make a diamond stack using two camera lens hoods (metal). I need one that will fit over the current Sammie stack, outside of stack is 14mm. I need a lens to fit around that. I know nothing about lens hoods or how small they get. Im thinking anything between 15-20mm would work. Then I would need a slightly larger hood to fit over the small hood. They will be joined with brass strip and hex bolts. If anyone has anything laying around and don’t need let me know. Picture below is what Im trying to do.
Shawn, Have you thought of turning it down out of wood? If you have a drill press or even a VS hand drill that you could clamp down you could do it.
20mm is less then 1". start with a 1" dowel drill a hole thru it to fit a 2" long bolt. Put the bolt thru and nut it tight. Chuck the bolt in the drill press or hand drill. Use a low speed. Use a file to cut it to shape. Sand to finnish.
You would have been done by now.
Good luck. Post Pics.

Dave - Not sure wood would be a viable material for the stack of a live steam loco :] But then, how would you know Sammie is a LS loco unless you were following Shawn’s other thread, so you’re excused!

Just another alternative thought would be a metal 1/2" plumbing escutcheon or rummage in the 1/2" plumbing section of a good hardware store.
Shawn just got two 1/2in to 1 1/4 copper adapter from plumbing shop look just like that.

Didn’t Know that it was LS. Though it would work for a little while, then a rather spectacular failure.

It would do a good job of providing the proper aroma for a wood burner.
