Large Scale Central

Look what followed me home today

Went for my annual pre Christmas visit to that little train store up in Malden MA…
I actually spent less then what I though I was going too, but my pocket still took a good hit!

I did notice that even though they still have more trains on display then anyplace else I have ever seen they were a bit down on product and one brand in particular didn’t have much on display there at all.
Or at least I should say, they didn’t have much from said manufacturer that I would have been interested in.
But, we had fun, spent about 90 minutes looking around and making decisions. I didn’t catch the persons name that was helping me but he was very helpful and came through with finding me the roller sets and the USAT EMD F3 (last stand alone A unit they had for sale in B&M). Neither items were on display and it took him a while to find the F3 in the warehouse, but it was worth the wait.
Is it spring yet?

I love a good, brick and mortar store. Lucky you’ve got one nearby.

I thought they use to go to the show that was to day.

I was going to head up to the show, but decided to just go where I knew thier would be stuff I wanted.

Hi Vincent,

Nice aquisition today! Almost thought about driving down there myself today. Good call on the B&M, i say that’s the best looking f3 they sell. I’m actually starting to regret selling my MECs a few years ago, so maybe i need a b&m one now? Never thought I’d be going back to 1:29 scale again, but you really cant beat the power and reliability of those usa 2 axle blombergs.

Followed you Home ? Nice loco Vincent and to think all you need to feed it is some electricity. LOL
Charles Ro is a great store and the folks there are very helpful. Was the guy in question 55 or so maybe 5’8" and Italian looking? He has helped me before and is a good guy but I don’t know his name.

Have fun with that B+M

Todd it was a younger guy, very helpful.
The Bachmann rollers are pretty decent for the money, glad I picked them up. Always wanted a few sets of them and finally remembered to ask for some while I was there.

The show was all scale, but I did find several great buys.

In a bag, a 1015U track new, epl drive and 1203 DPDT add-on all for $15. I got 4 of these. Great bargain. Got home and all 4 epl drives work!!

Dan you have a nose for deals.

Glade I don’t live near the Ro store I would be bank rupped. Later RJD
