Login problems Vista since change from IE to Firefox

When I log in on my son’s Phenom from newly installed firefox, LSC says “logged in successfully, redirecting”, then it flips to the main forum page.

Unfortunately, the login banner on top says: “You are not logged in. - Click here to log in.”

No pastel icons, no name in the “Now Online” at the bottom.

Any guesses?

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik

Are cookies enabled?

I’ve had a boat load of problems with the new Firefox 3. I’ve had to stop using it. I had the same problem you had here, cookies were enabled.
It was also “freezing” and causing a reboot.
Anywhere I had to log in, such as Yahoo mail, I would loose my login if I ventured off the initial page.
I uninstalled and reinstalled with no improvement.

I’m running 3.03 at home and it seems to be doing much better now on XP. There used to be a long delay loading the style sheet, but that seems to have improved greatly with the latest patch.

Perhaps it’s a Vista thing.

well don’t try to go to rgsrrhobbies on anything but IE it will cause your computer to go crazy if you do. The owner is aware of it and can’t seem to get the problem fixed. So when I want to go there i switch over to IE and go. I have no problems with Firefox other than that one website, THAT I KNOW OF ANYWAY! The Regal

I'm using XP. I even did a clean install of XP. Downloaded another copy of Firefox just in case the first was corrupt. Still had problems galore. Pages don't render correctly. Still couldn't stay logged in anywhere. Bob's holiday .GIFs would show up anywhere on the page, usually on top of something else. I haven't used Firefox in a week or so. I'll probably install an older version. Ralph

Yea, FF3 is really odd, Im not sure what the issues are. I run it here, so I see a lot of them myself, but I dont have the login problems. And Vista, well, I’m staying away from it.

Hey Bob, Why does the picture under the text in all of your posts come up blank?

Installed Firefox 2. Everything is working correctly so far. No log in problems and the pages are rendering correctly.

he had a server crash and lost his pictures.

Just a follow up…

Never got the chance to experiment with possible fixes.

I told my son about the login problems, he observed me trying, then sat down and deleted firefox and reloaded the IE icon to his desktop.

End of problem.

He must have had problems on other sites, too.

Thanks for your suggestions, all.

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik

My solution was a bit different. I deleted Vista and bought an XP license.

Anybody else think it is strange that Bob can't fix this?

Not that I can’t, but I haven’t had the time. Its a RAID array, and I lost 2 drives simultaneously. To avoid overwriting data, I took the whole array offline. I have replacement drives here, but I need a day or so free to remove, replace, and rebuild the array.

Two drives at once… That sucks!

Here’s hoping you find the time soon. You can’t imagine how many important places pictures that you have posted show up (or don’t)

Yep, normally when a RAID loses a drive, you just replace it, and it rebuilds itself. When two go down, you have to fiddle with it a bit to manually rebuild the redundancy data.

Dear All,

Follow up to my follow up.

My son re-installed firefox 3.0 on his Vista Phenom, knocking out my login for LSC (on his computer, my old dinosaur still logs in.)

This time we dug into the cookies. They were enabled, and LSC was there, but still no login.

My son deleted all the cookies and started over.

Bingo. Works swell, and seems fast loading.

Thanks for the tip, Bob.

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik

About 10 times as fast as IE,

though I see a strange subliminal flash of large black letters on a white background when maneuvering between pages.
