Logging 2-4-4-0 from a couple of B'mann 2-4-2s

My pal picked up this engine with his huge circus train collection, along with a smaller 0-4-0 (see my other thread.) It is now on a shelf and well lit so I took another couple of pics.

Here’s one of the original photos from a few weeks ago.

It free wheels with a clicking noise - pretty sure the axle gear is split, just like the 0-4-0. Fortunately I bought 2 gears from Jerry Y so we’re all ready to make it work again.

Wishing successful repair, sure is an interesting looking locomotive.

Good luck! Looking forward to seeing the video of this Iron Horse on the rails!

Wow that’s a beauty

The more I look at those cubic class lamps the more I wonder if they might be kitbashed from Lego pieces, they do have some pieces which look kind of like those headcode lamps for UK steamers.

That’s one snazzy lookin loco…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Pete excellent brass wire work, railings and air piping look great, looks a lot like the snookums a guy is building on MLS, Bill

I have no idea. Here’s a closer look.

Bill - we had nothing to do with the build. The loco was included with the circus “kit” that my pal bought from an estate. The pipework seems to be brass and is a wonderful job. Check out the drain pipe from the air tank.

Neat loco Pete.

Ya know that name, Pistol River Lumber Co, seems faintly familiar like maybe it was someone on one of the train forums way back when.

Does it sound familiar to anyone else??

Or maybe it’s only because Pistol River is just west of us here in Southern Oregon(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

I don’t know the name from any forums, or at all, but that only means that I don’t know the name.

Playing in Google found Pistol River is a real place in Oregon.

for example; https://oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=parkPage.dsp_parkPage&parkId=55

Pistol River State Park is set in the dunes of the southern Oregon coast. The river supposedly got its name when a militia soldier lost his pistol in the river during the infamous Rogue River Indian War. In March of 1856, a decisive battle was fought here.

The dunes and the river system that feeds them are what make this area unique. During the spring and summer months, the dunes actually grow. The river has changed its course numerous times in recent history and pothole ponds attract waterfowl and shorebirds making this is an excellent birding locale. Ocean windsurfing is so good here it has become the location for several national championships.
