I finally got the crazy loco #88 made that I started last fall from two E-8 noses I got from Rex. Don’t ask me why I did it, just a ‘wild hair’. Not real sure what I’ll do with it, thought it could tow my eggliner coaches I made, one is attached to it here. Wife cut the lettering for me from vinyl(she used to have a sign shop). I did the UP symbol on my computer and printed it on papilio vinyl ink jet paper. Then cut it out and peeled off the backing and stuck it on. Did some Texaco signs on the same sheet.
Jerry it looks like you have them coming and going.
Nice work.
That’s neat but I think it needs to be electric (no room of a big dismal engine). Would look cool with pantograph.

Jerry,
Looks cool.
Brian is right. Would look good as an electric.
Ralph
Pretty cool, but one has to ask, what was your friend Rex making that he ended up with two spare noses ???
I’d love to be able to afford one E8. I can’t imagine cutting two (or 3?) up to build something. No that it’s a bad thing, just way outside of my budget parameters.
Now that is seriously cool. I could see Aristo doing that (you should send them a pic). I know it’s pure fantasy so room for an engine is not that important, but I agree, it would look “dyno-mite” as an electric!
What a hoot?? Cool model Jerry.
Dave
Oh wow! that came out cool! Lewis should make that one!
Thanks guys. Jon, Rex cut the cabs off to make some B units for guys. Marty did that also, I got his nose that I put onto my FA-1a unit to give it a more streamlined look.
Well, I guess in that case I could see cutting one Thanks.
Wow, is that ever neat. Good job!!!

Well Jerry, here’s my suggestion FWIW: have an engineer to the likeness of Lewis Polk fashioned in 1:29 and present it to him at the next show both you and he attend!
That’s definitely different Jerry and pretty cool as well. I bet kids would love seeing that pull a few egg’s around. I do agree with Brian also as a pantograph would look pretty cool on top. Actually I know kids would love it. Can’t afford to cut up E-8’s though. Glad Marty can. Neat project!!
Anybody have a set of drawings for a pantograph, or source for good pix/plans? Had not thought of that, don’t have any on my RR. Hans, I don’t think Lewis wants to talk to me!
Jerry Barnes said:Yes Sir, page 95 of the 6th edition of the Model Railroader Cyclopedia has a Milwaukee Road Panto (looks like the ones on the Little Joes, would be perfect). If you don't have that book let me know. ;)

Thanks Hans, I don’t have the book.
Jerry, you’ve got mail.
Thanks Hans, got it printed off, now scratching my head as to how to do it, having never seen one. Looked at some pix online also. I’ll get to it, working on the Challenger again right now.
thanks again! Jerry
Coat hanger?
I see there is an LGB one on ebay. I guess MTH would have the part, the GG-1 has them, right?
