I still can’t find my cars… here is my first step by step …
Start:
Configure; all locations & all Sidings …. No problem
Configure layout industries:
Beach= Rail fan IN @20%
Alviso= Rail Fan OUT @20%
Configure Cars: (1) Rail Fan Car, Locos & Cabooses
Build a train: No cars found error …
Advanced the date and recalc cars Build train …. No cars found
Location report:
Rail fan car at ranch (???) I did not do this move or want it. Soooooooooo I deleted the train … Added a day, and recalc the cars.
Built train: include ranch, beach, and wetlands.
Beach =Rail Fan OUT @20 %
Wetlands = Rail Fan IN @20 %
Build Train: No cars found
Location report says: Ranch----- on Sidings ----- railfan car ….
Checked industry usage=0.
Checked the car list and found Rail Fan was listed as: usage 120 %
Location List says it is at: Ranch and return to Beach …. ??
Next: Turn off beach OUT. Add a day & recalc.
Reports: Car locations: unchanged Industry orders: all blank Industry usage: 0 for all Cars list: Rail Fan Car usage at 60%.
Note: Max moves for all 3 was set to 0. I changed all 3 to 1, and updated the train.
Build Train: No cars Added a day and recalc. Build Train: No cars
NOTE: Checked reports and found something strange … On the Equipment Location Report, all sidings are blank. I expected that, but Ranch has a siding called stockyards and it is blank TOO!! Location Report shows Ranch has Rail Fan Car … this is really strange to me and not right …. Because “Ranch” is the location, the siding is “stockyards”.
At this point I am frustrated! @#$%^&*! I am shot gunning this project because of the confusion. I really am missing the structure or organization of all this. I would expect that the yards would be recognized and equipment would start at the yards and go on from there, eventually returning I just can’t get that to work with this new version (Build 71).
I am going to remove the rail fan car and re-configure it so I can start over again.
NOTE: I’m having another issue/concern. When we “configure layout” we put in our yard tracks and there is a check box: deliver empties here. So I assume that once we take a car to an industry, then a day later, (or whatever the setting is) the car will end up back at the yards. So far I have not seen this once. My next effort is to try to log a car, ie Rail fan Car (RF) through the lay out. When we configure cars there is a check box when empty return cars to …. I would like to see the yard tracks listed. An example is the RF car. After taking the Rail Fans for a ride, I would like that car returned the yards for the next run.

This is crazy … I don’t know what “On sidings” is or where. So now I am in trouble already. I can’t build a train ‘cause the RF is on sidings ???

I don’t get it!!! How can I start without the RF in the Yards at Moccasin Gap? There is NO equipment tracking for this car and it moves !!
