For those in California over Thanksgiving through Christmas, the Living Desert’s gigantic desert-themed outdoor layout is in full operation – and well-worth the visit in Palm Desert, CA (20 min. from Palm Springs).
Daily hours: 9:00 - 5:00 PM year-round
“WILD LIGHTS” show 6:00 - 9:00 PM – entire park and the railroad with millions of small lights throughout. Separate ticket for this event. Layout is still visible from illumination. Very dramatic! This event through December.

i will post some photos i took at the layout a month ago. I try and pay them a visit very year or so. I do like the coal mine.
