Live Steam and Rolling Stock For Sale

Neil,

Stay safe on your side!

Eric

Safe? Maybe the media has exaggerated the extent of the lava flow or emissions. This is maybe a 90 acre parcel of land affected. I feel sorry for those who have lost their homes but building on the rift zone didn’t seem prudent but was done. Thanks for your concern!

It has been suggested that I model a lava flow in my garden but I live on the slopes of Mauna Kea so would probably he viewed as poor taste.

Today I found the Puffing Billy Climax and fell in love . Anybody done one of these in 1:13.7?

Joe, there isn’t much in 1:13.7 (7/8ths scale.) Your best bet would be to take a 1:20.3 version and “upsize” it with a new cab, etc.

From http://members.ozemail.com.au/~telica/Puffing_Billy_Climax_1694.html where there are lots of good pictures.

Incidentally, Puffing Billy RR is 2’ 6" gauge, so 1:13.7 wouldn’t be exactly correct for that Climax. 1:17 would be closer, which would make the conversion easier.
(And just to confuse things, Accucraft did a ‘Puffing Billy’ 2-6-2 Baldwin for the Australians no so long ago, but in 1:20.3.)

Pete,

It’s Neil Erickson that fell in love with puffing Billy. I only posted his photo. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)

Pete,

You link to the Puffing Billy RR is sort of messed up.

This link works…

I have an LGB/Aster Frank S, modified Accucraft 7/8 Emma and a Cheddar tram live steam RC chassis (no bodywork) for sale.

I also have a number of pieces of rolling stock and rolling stock kits available. I will be at the PLS/16mm gathering in PA this weekend with those, some magazines (free) and books (reasonably priced) and hope to go home with none of them. I don’t yet have a complete list but if you e-mail me personally [email protected] I can tell you much of what is available and prices. I would also be willing to ship if you cover the postage.

Thanks,

Tom

Iain,

I keep checking but I have received no e-mail from you. You can PM me through LSC with your e-mail address and I will send you the list of what remains. I will have to learn about international shipping if there is something you would like to have.

Thanks for the excellent trade Tom

I’m looking for a new stack for my Bachmann Shay. The only one available on the parts site is a Climax version. Does anybody know if this will fit or should I just keep looking?

Thanks!

Neil,

This is Tom’s thread about his sale. It would be more polite, and more effective, to start a new thread with a new title that reflects the different topic.

That being said, there are a few after-market parts that you could look at. Trackside Details sells several stacks and one may fit your loco. I’ve used this one:

Thanks Pete,

I lost control of this thread a long time ago and have given up. I still have more stuff to sell so I’ll start another new effort for that.

Sorry about that Tom! I’ll post elsewhere.

Neil
