Sean… I think it’s the monster from the Dark Lagoon… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
I caught Tom at Marty’s once actually wearing shoes. I even took a photo of it, but he put some bad juju on my camera and deleted the photo.
The Model Contest
I am a little surprised by the turn out, I expected a lot more participation.
This one below is mine.
It was listed in the rules that all entries were to be anonymous but the entry forms were left lying out the whole time with the names on them. I had kept this build quiet except for some updates on chat but I guess it does not matter now. You can find more pics and the entire build log here: https://cibolalmrr.com/structures/moonshiners-shack/
Winner to be announced tomorrow. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)I guess.
BBQ Dinner
Thank God no baloney made an appearance. We had Pulled Pork, Sliced Beef, Grilled Chicken, Coleslaw, Beans, Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad and Corn Bread. For Desert there was apple and peach cobblers.
My compliments to the Pitmaster… an easy A+++
We also had some first rate entertainment. members of the Tulsa Metro Sound Ladies Chorus graced us with a review of their latest efforts. They were very good.
and now more layouts.
Part 2 pictures of the vendor hall are now posted on page 3 of this thread with part 1.

Things wrap up tomorrow. My last run through vendors hall…and the banquet.
Boomer, your model entry is stellar! Your level and attention to detail is incredible. I cannot imagine you will not win with honors. I would be terrified to put it outside. It’s beautiful. Good luck!
there are some real gems there, the last one looks huge, lots of great detail work.
Boomer the Model looks great, Thanks for all the pictures
Boomer, thanks again for the excellent coverage (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

LSC chalks up another win.
First Place: Structure!!!
Well NGRC 2017 is in the books. An absolutely amazing job by the Tulsa crew. You guys and dolls ROCK!!!
LSC members Dennis Rayon and Tom Ruby were each recognized individually at the closing banquet for their contributions.
I will post the rest of my layout pictures in the albums section and leave a link here next week.
Atlanta had people here promoting NGRC 2018 as did Portland for NGRC 2019.
Nobody presented for 2020 but there is an ugly rumor from the New Mexico Garden Railroaders that it might be…
Albuquerque.
Remember, you heard it here first.
Say your prayers and save your pennies there may be an opportunity on the horizon to eat BBQ and see Boomer in his native habitat!!!
And congratulations are not only in order but freely given. Great job Boomer (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
Just remember it was the loose ends of the wall paper that secured the win (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Excellent reporting and Congratulations on your deserved win.
Many thanks for all the pics.
John

I told ya, that you couldn’t keep shoes on him.
Great pictures and postings. Thank you!
I’ll have you know: I wore my sandals for a few minutes on Tuesday.
We had a professional trained NMRA judge on the contest. He told us that it takes an EXTREMELY good model to score a hundred points. One model scored 87, the lowest of all the others was 107.
This barefoot okie bows to your talent
