Large Scale Central

LIVE FROM ATLANTA!!!!! it's the 2018 NGRC

Congrats Boomer, nice touch taking Mik along.

Do they ask any questions about the build, or do they just look at what they can see, and judge from that? Great job on that and on the LSC guys on the station! It’s now officially too nice to go outside! Carlene should be clearing a space for it and the trophy.

Pete,

I don’t believe they asked any questions, but they were well informed.

We all win, because that is such an excellent model. Well done, Boomer - congratulations!

(Man, I REALLY like all the great modelers on this site - it is VERY inspiring!!!)

Hopefully the HDAV had some room somewhere for the trophy and the ribbon, Hate to think that Hollywood had to walk to Andys place because the trophy got to ridde in the seat!!!

Pete entries are allowed to have a page or two of text and pictures describing the build, materials, inspiration…etc. Last year the entries were judged by certified NMRA contest judge. This year they used a committee. Each person judged all entries individually and then they collectively chose a winner. I am not sure how many people were on the committee but the number three was thrown around.

Thanks for the support guys.

Great job Boomer! Congrats…

Thanks for sharing the pictures!! Couldn’t go this year but it’s fun to see some of the garden creations…keep 'em coming!!

Richard

Congrats Boomer! You were a busy man. Boomer also hosted two clinics.

I enjoyed meeting you and David M. and I hope your continued travels are going well.

I‘ll post some photos of the Friday and Saturday layouts when I get home in a week or so.

Boomer it was a pleasure having you as chief navigator for the trip. Great meeting you, Ben, and Matt Russell at Andy’s place. Also those I met and crossed paths with at the convention. Safe travels all(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Thanks to all that posted the pics of mthe even. Sorry I could not attend as I was hosting a Camping rally. Later RJD

R. J., I asked if anyone saw you. Thought you’d be around since it was in your neck of the woods. Glad to hear all is well and your continuing to disrupt the neighborhood.

Sorry I have been out of touch the last few days. My computer blew up its hard drive (for the second time). I am back home now and breaking in it’s replacement.

Unfortunately I lost the pics from the convention layouts but I think other got that covered. Worst thing was the loss of the videos of the TVRM 2-8-0 on the turntable and at the wye.

Be back on in a couple of days once I get all my files and settings reloaded.

Well as they say S happens and sure would have liked to have been there. I’ve kind of cut back tho on train operations. Still trying to get a new RR built off the ground just can’t get energized. Later RJD

Good to hear you made it home. I enjoyed traveling around the area with you, as I wouldn’t have thought of Andersonville for a side trip. I’ll see if I can send you a few pics of the tours.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
