Large Scale Central

Listen up!

Yep, I’m brief, concise, factual, and to the point (or try to be).

I like this site, it’s the only major site not contaminated with hundreds of ads and trackers.

It’s run by a guy who is actually a hobbyist.

I’d like it to keep to trains, not facebook style blathering, politics, religion. It can be a GREAT resource for people looking for help, solutions, ideas.

Greg

p.s. if you’ like to see how questions get answered or lost on Facebook, take a look at the GeneratioNext facebook page…

Just exactly what is so heinous about the following post that someone (hi mista b or joe) decided to ding me rep points?

Hi Greg,

Didn’t ding you.

Ralph

This is one of the reasons I rarely post. If its not on a members “approved” topic list you get called out, problem is you never know what the “approved” list is from day to day so its best to read and not post anything.

Actually, I think you will find that Bob has been pretty explicit. You may not have been around for the “off topic forum” fiasco, but it was tried and then withdrawn. There is NO non trains forum to post on, per Bob.

I’d suggest you notice the header on this forum: "Train related talk that doesn’t fit in another forum. "

The general forum is the most diverse, the others are even more specific. The common denominator is all topics are to be about trains. (except other hobbies)

So this is not a “Members approved list”, this is straight from the OWNER of the list. Many people keep trying to blame an individual for the “rules” because they mention the rules… the desire of the OWNER is to be self-policing, no matter how the information about the rules gets to you, you should RESPECT the published wishes of the owner. (that means follow the rules he set out).

Bob, you should post. As long as its about trains, models or the real thing, how could you go wrong? The more people that post, the more diverse the information, opinions, solutions, etcetera. People not posting is one of my biggest annoyances on the other site I frequent.

Bob, Please post! Your railroad is fantastic, including the indoor stuff, which I really like, and anybody who can put a baby on a flat car has my undying admiration. Oh, yeah! If a guy like you doesn’t have anything to say, nobody does!!

I know we all run the risk of reading questionable comments when we post, but I for one just ignore them, and I would encourage a lot of people who used to be on this site or who, like you, may be reluctant to post to do the same.
