Does anyone know about/ dealt with this company? I’ve contacted them twice now in as many weeks through their website contact form but no replies. They seem legit. I saw them at the Amhearst show.

http://microstru.com/Billboards.html This is the billboard manufacturer and has been at Shows in New England.
I saw them there too. Actually, I’m not looking for billboard signs. I’m looking for prototypical flashing ditch lights (one light ramping up as the other dims) that I can connect to a 9V battery.
Hi Dan,
Welcome aboard. Nice to see another person from RI.
Dennis
Thanks Ken, I’ll check it out.

Thanks Dennis,
I’m surprised to see New Englanders at all given the challenges of this climate!

Yeah but for Rhode Islanders west Glocester is like a whole different state as it’s so far away from civilization!
Ram-Trac makes flashing ditch lights, but not sure if they work with a 9 volt battery
Not sure if this is what Andy is talking about RAM 118 DITCH LIGHTS-SUPER BRITE. This mini module alternately flashes two T1, 1/8" (3MM) white LEDs, each on 1 foot of high quality #30 wire. Included are two 3/16" clear lenses for larger scales. The flash rate is adjustable and the system is designed for low voltage rail power.
you can get them here http://www.reindeerpass.com/RAM-Lights-Sound-Ditch-Lights-Super-Bright.aspx
i looked at kens link and like these http://www.modeltrainsoftware.com/wigwagcircuit.html
What I’d really like is this http://www.trainelectronics.com/DitchLights/images/ditch_on_engine.MP4
notice how they don’t just flash on and off alternating. One ramps up as the other goes down. All the kits I’ve seen have an adjustable flash rate but that just controls how long they “blink”. I have a feeling I’ll need to build one myself or possibly hack a fiber optic x-mas tree.
Well, just talk to Dave Bodner. He built that.
I am still at a loss as to why folks want to light up the ditches though.(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Dennis and Dan, I live in MA but am only 35 minutes from TFGreen. 4 of my RR club members are in RI.
So, I contacted Dave Bodner. I didn’t initially because I had read on his site that the circuit boards for the ditch lights were not avail. Turns out that’s true but he sells a Crossing signal circuit that also can be set to do what I want. I bought 2 kits so I’ll need to brush up on the soldering skills. Thanks to David Maynard for slapping me in the head. I like the look of the alternating ditch lights to add animation to my switchers when they are sitting idle.
Dan from RI, how do you run your trains, track power battery, radio control??
I set up fireboxes in locos using a digital decoder and programming the outputs.
Also I install/ program ditch lights and they only flash when blowing the horn.
We should get together sometime soon.
Dan, I don’t run any trains yet. I recently sold all my HO scale stuff on eBay to finance G. I spent a lot of time back in the 90’s hanging around the Bangor & Aroostook riding freights and taking pictures to make models for my freelance Aroostook Valley RR in HO. Now I’m looking to do something similar in G scale here on my farm in West Glocester. The time spent with the BAR is very special to me and my “Nipmuck & Shetucket” will also be 90’s era new england. Lately, I’ve been modifying Aristo 40’ steel boxcars to look like 90’s 50’ ones. Removing roofwalks, lowering ladders and brake wheels, adding ext posts etc.
