Lighting on a 2 axle coach

Using the LGB 63193 brush pickup, what is the best way to get the power wires into the the coach? This coach does not have a hole through the truck pivot mount as I have seen on some. Do I just drill a hole through the center of the pivot? Would drilling the hole affect the integrity of the pivot? Thanks.

The answer is yes, you can drill thru the truck mount. Just make sure the hole is big enough to fit the 2 wires. Don’t over do it. And then once they are inside the loco, test the trucks for swiveling side to side without binding from the wires, Keep them flexible, but not too flexible.

These wire should be pulled a little more into the car,

You both sound like a bunch of old guys talking toy trains! I don’t even like 2 axle coaches so I couldn’t help.

That’s all you could get 40-50 years ago. I had to start somewhere. :grinning:

I am an old guy, but you don’t have to remind me.

Wayne,
I think I’m getting there rather quickly myself. Glad John chimed in with a solid answer!

Thank you John. I was worried that I might trash my new Halloween car with the pivot hole. Now the issue will be can this shaky old man get 4 wires soldered.

You can always hook them up to a battery in the car. No soldering, no drilling, etc.
Just crimp the wire ends together.

Yep, 4 axles are better.
