Life is Good

I’m sitting at a picnic table, using the campgrounds WiFi, with a campfire smoldering a few feet a way and the grill warming up to cook Bubba Burgers

Spent the whole day today sitting at the same picnic table working on my RS-3’s. I’m setting them up so that the sound from my Cheesy Sound Car will play through the speakers of all three MU’d RS-3s as well as two speakers in the trail car. A complicated series-parallel harness allows me to maintain greater than 4 ohms on the Phoenix board. Didn’t get all three done but had a great outdoor work bench day.

I could get used to this - 'cept the skeeters.

Jon

Cool. What kind of campground has WiFi?

Jon,

Sounds good … but … I always thought that a smoldering campfire and skeeters would be an oxymoron.

It’s been an excellent week all around up here, no skeeters that I noticed - they seem to be after SWMBO, which indicates that I’m a sour puss.

The neighbours across the road have a cherry tree just groaning under the load of fruit. And the biggest laugh, they are not that crazy about cherries. So today was another cherry pie day.

Assembled track, cut more rail etc. etc. … and the weather is really good!

Jon,
I hope this is something we will be able to see at Fred’s. We all know how much he enjoys good sound systems.

Just got done parking the camper in the back yard.

Ray - WiFi is becoming very popular at at campgrounds. This was a small privately owned place. They have WiFi in the pavilion and our site was close enough to make the connection.

Hans - I had hoped the smoke would keep the mosquitoes away, but no such luck. They were only bad in the evening. We sat outside all day and didn’t get bit until the sun started going down., So we just moved inside.

Ric - I thought about it (for a few seconds) but knowing how much Fred appreciates sound, I think the sound car should probably stay home. For now, the engines run on battery from a trail car, but the sound system gets it’s power from the track. I suppose I could try and work out powering the sound from the batteries too. The other problem is that both the battery car and the sound car are narrow gauge prototypes in 1:24. I don’t want to be responsible for the mayo-cardio infarction that pulling those behind 1:29 diesels might cause :0 But then again, what the 'ell.

“What the 'ell”

This is something I have say many times.

Another popular quote around here is “Hey, hold my beer and watch this”.

“Life is Good” covers a multitude of sins, future sins, desires and creates the capability to put up with the day to day crap that smacks us in the forehead. Besides, it really pisses off a lot of people that think that you are having this much fun while they are living their mundane lives.

…I can’t hear a thing…seeing is becoming difficult also…!!!

…but I can still find my mouth with a beaker of Whisky !!!

…and almost able to hear it being poured across the property…

Fr. Fred

That is a common condition referred to as “selective hearing”!

The twin condition is called “selective sight”. Equally common and, as one can read in the different fora, with wide variations of severity.

Also noteworthy is the condition called “variable brain taxing”, this one has a direct effect on the above two.
