The interesting part is: usually when mfgs/importers/distributors have a website/shopping cart they list all their “own stuff” at MSRP; in order not to compete with their own dealers.

“Spotted Deer” is certainly using a different model, the proof of the pudding will be the delivery times i.e. will “Spotted Deer” be in a better position (getting first crack)? If not, what is the purpose of competing with your own dealers? Strange! Time will tell. :wink: :confused:

As I said above, there are only a few real biggies that are selling LGB to any degree. And John, it’s not surprising that the mom & pop hobby shops are being run out of business. This is the trend in all business models across the country. Stores are all big companies now…grocery stores, general merchandise, home improvement, auto dealerships, pharmacies, etc, etc, etc. America was built on the individual mom & pop businesses, but we’ve allowed the big businesses, the ones with their hands in the politicians pockets to rule. The current generation being born is going to pay a BIG price for what we’ve done.

Oh, and the latest “story” I’ve been told at the local hobby shop, LGB is no longer selling their products in the US and is no longer available.

Also, something else very interesting, to be an LGB dealer you have to have a real brick & morter storefront. I wonder how Spotted Deer can justify getting around it’s own rules…:confused:

One thing , you chaps . If you are ever stuck for the LGB stuff you want , and it’s available here , I will gladly help out anyone . And I mean anyone.
Don’t go getting riled up about rumours , wait to see what happens . Getting ratty ain’t gonna fix it , and I am pretty sure that there is more than just me over here willing to help get stuff to you .
Of course , I hope it won’t come to that , and I don’t think it will . We have our news sources here , too .

After reading the stories about the LGB price structure in the UK, I’d say ordering direct from the nominal “Country of Origin” would be a much more sensible idea.

Well , Hans , at the moment , we are getting LGB that is not available in Germany ,except at some special places --I expect you can guess who they would be .
I take your point about the price , but remember , if an item is bought here for export , no VAT is paid on it , so that makes a 17% difference .
The offer is there , if you get stuck for anything , and I can help , please ask . No doubt you have plenty of contacts , they will probably offer the same help if the item you want is available to them . Don’t let yourself get stuck if you really want something , that’s all I mean .
