LGB Parts Needed

Gent’s

I recently purchased a “supposed” 36 year old LGB 2073, Yellow box and all. I had removed it once to inspect, very quickly on arrival. Today I got it out for a more thorough looksie and discovered there was an issue. The Steam Chest “lids” fall out and the snow plough will not stay connected…seems the problem is 2 fold. The “lids” have tabs that the plough mount screws into. I have the screws, and plough, but the lids keep falling out and that prevents the plough from being secured. It appears the broken lid tab “pieces” are in the box, but I’m not sure I can salvage them. In addition I looks like I’m missing the whistle assembly from the roof cab as well. Lastly, the loco has No striping on the tanks, the one listed on ebay for sale now (with a metal trailing truck wheels vs. my plastic wheels) has pin-striping-yellow. I assume the striping was added in later runs?

Anyone now where to start with these issues? The manual shows the following numbers>

2070, 2071, 2072, 2073 and TRAFO 5008

thanks!!!

Cale,
your loco dates from 1973-74. The gold whistle missing from the cabin roof is generally the first casualty of any LGB steam locomotive. You could try Alex Tillman, at Train-Li, as he regularly imports parts from the owner (in Germany) of all the LGB spare parts ‘auctioned’ off some months ago.
