Good evening Guys A few weeks ago I was given a very sorry looking box of bits which were once a LGB 2018D Mogul, wires cut, bits missing, flaking plating to the bendy bits and a motor that would not mesh with the gears. Rebuild is now done except for tender lettering and I am very pleased with the result. Loco mods: Wiring trashed and redone to a basic system. Running boards clad with wood. Handrail supports trimmed from bendy handrails, drilled through and rails replaced with brass. Some piping replaced with copper tube. New flag holders to pilot. Lube lines added to valve chests. Little Jim in cab as engineer. Tender mods: Wood rails grained and painted ‘Wood’ load binned and replaced with the real stuff. Knuckle coupler to rear New step made to replace missing one. The paint scheme is whatever I had, Brown,Green and red.Lined with a paint pen… Result, a loco that runs well and cost basically zilch which in any currency can’t be bad. Regards David

Shop crew deserves extra pay!
Certainly a fine achievement David, enhanced of course by its low cost.
David,
It is really great to see not only a locomotive that was trashed restored but made better than before! I really like the paint scheme and the end result is not only pleasing to the eye but done realistically as well!
Hey David a great job . Like the paint to.
Now there is a loco you can be prod of…
