LGB mogul parts needed

I am in need of a few parts for the 2018d mogul I am fixing. Here is the list: 2 good flag pole holders for the pilot deck, top for the sand dome, top with whistle and pop valves and middle brass looking part for the steam dome, one of the middle hand rail mounts on the boiler, smoke stack and 1 long hand grab for side of the cab. For the tender I need 2 of the long hand grabs that go on the sides, the coupler lift bar with its mounts for the rear of the tender, and the water fill cover. Trying to bring the old girl back into shape. Thanks Mike

I can tell you that these are the most common parts asked for on LGB moguls.

I saw the stanchions on E-bay for $55, and the top round covers for $29.

Last year I found a complete repainted mogul with sound and almost no run time for $90.

It is much easier to just get a complete mogul.

Except fort the flag poles pop valves and whistles, these parts are not available from TrainLi as they have been out of stock for a long time. Same for the compressor on newer moguls, no longer available.

Hopefully Marklin will make American models and parts.

One can hope, but I have little of it from Marklin, seems they have pretty much written off the USA market until just recently when they stepped away from having Walthers as thier exclusive distributor. I am watching ebay, seen the flag poles cheap, havent seen any domes. My local source hasnt had time but thinks he has a couple junkers in the storage bins, just hasnt had time to look with the Christmas rush. The round dome version, they are molded into the boiler casting. Wasnt that way for the wood burner. Mike

Mike, maybe if you could “borrow” the parts from someone, maybe you could cast copies of them.

Mike contact Train-Li-USA they carry lots of LGB parts or they can get them from Germany. I’ve used them several times and they’re great to work with.

I have looked at thier site and the one they source from in Germany. Dont see the major parts I need, the 2 domes. Hopefully I can get down to the shop in Zionsville before Christmas and see if they came up with anything. I do have someone on another site that may try to turn a couple of “stand in” domes on his lathe till I find proper LGB ones. Thanks Mike
