LGB Genesis wiring

I am converting all of my engines to Battery operations using a following battery car. I have a large number of engines and have been very successful so far in my efforts to convert Diesel prototypes. One of my last diesel prototypes to convert was the LGB Genesis. All the wires under the hood are black and I had to play some games to figure out what wires picked up power from the trucks and what wires supplied power to the truck. I got the thing to work from my batter cars, but without Lights. There are four wires going to/from the trucks. The outer two appear to be the power supply TO the trucks, and the inner two, I would assume, are the pick-up wires. But it does not seem to actually work that way. Supplying power to the inner two makes the lights come on but the motors do not. Rather different than the Aristo, USA and even other LGB diesel prototypes I have since worked with.

Anyone have any experience with this units wiring.

outer two are the motor, inner two are motor, but you need to look out for jumpers between the two!

look at the last picture on this page, you see the track pickups jumpered to the motor leads…
