I am adding a DALLEE (Dash 9) sound card and a USA smoke unit to my Genesis. This is my first LGB Locomotive. Upon taking the body off I learned that all leads are black. Before I go hacking wires, I’d like to know if I’m correct in this so far. " TWO OUTER LEADS = MOTOR … TWO INNER LEADS = TRACK." I was also wondering if I could just plug into the board on the two unused sockets? One for sound card and the other for smoke.

If my memory serve’s me correctly the board is marked. Also the leads are easy to trace especially if you have the body off. I have no smoke or sound in my units but I was able to trace leads just buy removing the top of the loco (where the smoke stack is) that whole top piece pops off.
However I’m pretty darn sure the board is marked what goes where.
Yes, outer leads are motor and inner leads are track power on all 4 wire blocks except for the Chloe (small FRR engines).
Track power is also available at each end of the Genesis and has a 2 wire plug in the blue socket.
The 2 pins on this board are 5 volt supply for the optional LGB smoke unit which mounts inside the top removable panel of this engine.
Excellent, Thanks guys. I’ll start the project on my next day off
I’m a bit surprised at how seldom anyone recommends verifying these connections with an inexpensive volt-ohm meter.
I always check these no matter how sure I am of the wiring.

Gee Greg, I thought I was the only one.
