LGB Coach Length?

I thought I posted this question a while back but can’t find it doing multiple searches.

I’m in the final planning stages for lighting my LGB coaches (D&RGW 3080 style) with LED light strips. To figure out how many LEDs will fit, I need to know how long the underside portion of the roofs are on these cars.

My coaches are all at my layout in Colorado, but I’m in California till the summer. So I can’t measure them myself untill then.

I kind of remember that the inside of the roofs do not go the entire length of the car, due to the open vestibule ends. I think this is the clerestory portion I’m thinking of. I’d put the LEDs up in the clerestory section so I think that’s the length measurement I’ll need, not the entire roof length.

Any help is appreciated.

Matt…I do mean to measure one for you…but there is two feet of snow between the house an
d where the cars are…I’ll get there soon, if no-one else answers you…

Clerestory ‘window to window’ is 11", 14" from end wall to end wall.

Thanks for the info Mark.

No real rush Fred since I’m not going to get to my cars until late May at the earliest. I’m in the planning/ordering parts stage now.
